Again (redundant i know), thats why they play the game.
You realize how inexperienced your o-line is, right?

Yessir. After looking with this schedule and what everyone has coming back, i really think they can go undefeated. But like others have said, OSU is looking for some revenge when they come into Happy Valley in November, they are gonna be hot. Illinois is gonna turn some heads this year, and yes, Iowa is def going to be giving the Lions a run for their money this fall. With that said, i think it can be done. Prolly the only games i have MAJOR concerns with are the Big Two, Ohio State and Michigan (yes, Michigan). OSU year in and year out is dominant in this conference, and well, lets face it, we've lost to Michigan in the Big House when we all know we shouldn't have at one point or another.

In my opinion we're going to face the most problems on the road at Ill, at Mich, and at MSU. I know our teams' weaknesses, and I think that a sketchy o-line and defensive secondary will get us into trouble in hostile road games. At home we have the benefit of quiet for our o-line to hear the count and play calls and likewise our secondary will have the crowd noise helping...

Now I know Iowa and Ohio State are not going to be easy, but I see those games going our way before I see the road games. Just my opinion.

10-2.

The offensive line and secondary won't be ready for Iowa after we sleep through the first three weeks of the season.

And we'll lose a road game to MSU since we can never go undefeated on the road.

I went with 11-1 with a loss to Northwestern as we ALWAYS have a loss that should've been a win.

I gave weight to intangibles...i.e. hunger. That's why I voted for a victory over Iowa, and losses to (yes) Michigan, and MSU. 10-2.

PSU vs Iowa

Last time I checked PSU led the FB series 11-10 & in 2007 Penn St dominated Iowa 27-7.

Penn State actually has a better road record vs Iowa then home record, 4-6 vs 7-4. Before Penn State joined the B10 they lead the series 6-3 & Iowa holds the edge since PSU joined the B10, in 1993, 7-5. SO you have a MINOR point.

But remember 2 things, 2 of Iowa's wins were OT wins which in the old days would have been a tie.

And if we are looking at dominance in the 5 PSU wins since joining the B10, PSU average winning margin has been 25.8 points per game while Iowa's has been 4.6.

All time winning average margin Penn State is CLEARLY ahead 21 points per win vs Iowa's 6 points per win.

In further analysis, only 2 of PSUs' 11 wins were by single digits while only 2 of Iowa's 10 wins were by double digits.

Penn States largest home victory was by 40, (61-21 in 1994) & away was by 31, (31-0 in 1993). Iowa's largest home victory was 19 in 1930, (19-0) & away was 8 points, (42-34 in 1983).

Since joining the B10 the average score has been Penn State 27.3 Iowa 19.2. I think that it's clear to see that when Iowa wins, it is usually not by much & when PSU wins, its a stomping.

Iowa has been a persistent & pesky opponent but I think that Clark & Royster will give the Iowa fits. Stanzi had a good 2nd half vs PSU last year but despite that the home filed advantage will play a bigger part, IMHO.

I very much love your attempt to have a logical discussion with TD. Gave me a good laugh this morning.
