“I knew a month ago that Michigan is where I want to be. It became so much clearer for me that I was 100 percent certain on my decision,” he said. “Then when I was injured it made my decision even that much more important to me because I can’t play football forever but I can have a degree from Michigan which carries a lot of weight anywhere I go. Then there is an opportunity to play right away. Plus Michigan’s strength and condition program and what it could do for me physically was huge. Man I can’t wait! I am looking forward to going to Ann Arbor to work with Coach Mike Barwis and be with my teammates.”
I found this amusing. Furman tells how he became a fan of the Wolverines...

Quote:
“I remember watching the Michigan vs. Ohio State game and a personal foul penalty was called on Shawn Crable for a hit on Troy Smith that the referee thought was out of bounds,” Furman recalled. “It was not a personal foul because Troy was still in bounds when Crable hit him; if they would not have called that penalty Michigan could have had a chance to come back and win. I was so mad after that game that me and my cousin went and played College Football 2007 and I inserted myself into the game at safety for Michigan and we won the game.”

Recruiting analyst: Michigan-bound QB Devin Gardner more advanced than Terrelle Pryor was

Quote:
“Devin has been far more prepared in the passing game and playing in a scheme that has required him to do some things with his arm on a much more consistent basis than Terrelle Pryor ever was,” Luginbill said today in a conference call. “Terrelle Pryor played in a version of the Wing-T, did not throw the football very much and, quite honestly, was not very efficient throwing the football.

"Going into the next level, Devin Gardner has an advantage there because he has played in a system similar to one he’ll be playing in at Michigan. ... I do think it’s a good fit.

"adapting to the no-huddle spread offense was physically challenging", Boren said. He mentioned the difficulty the offensive linemen had constantly running to the line of scrimmage.

Fixed.

But seriously, I still shake my head at OSU not pursuing Gardner more when there was mutual interest. He is going to be a good one.

To cheer myself up I'll put some "not so good news" in here for Michigan...

Tony Drake, Adrian Witty, and Dior Mathis will not make it to Michigan this year. Also looks like Gardner will NOT get to enroll early.

Dior Mathis? He's going to Oregon or MSU, I thought.

I knew about Witty and Drake, but UM academic advisors are at Gardner's HS today, trying to work with the school to allow him to graduate early. One of the problems is that (unlike most Michigan High Schools), Inkster HS is on Trimesters, so their term was not done at Christmas like most schools. There is also a new Principal at IHS, that complicates the situation.

Call me crazy, but there is part of me that would not like to see Gardner enroll early. I just don't know how comfortable I'd be starting yet again another Freshmen QB. I'd prefer Tate seize the job and Devin sit back and learn. Heck, I'd prefer Gardner red-shirts, this would give him his Junior and Senior seasons to be QB all to himself.

This was expected as of yesterday. UM insiders are feeling pretty good about Parker and Dorsey and thus no room for Knight.

There is also the small possibllity of a potential decommit but insiders aren't saying who just that he is a non midwest kid.

I am hearing the same thing as well. I would hate losing Ash especially with Talbot being a little wishy washy right now. That would leave just Black at DT. UM needs at least 2 DT's who can contribute early in this class.

Ok here is the latest info. Keep in mind things are very much subject to change especially when dealing with southern kids.

Things are looking very good for Dorsey.

Washington is making a hard push for Parker. Down to UW and UM

Ash is expected to be wearing a block M hat tomorrow.

Talbott needs another night to sleep on his decision. Between UNC and UM
